Leisure Group are committed to complying with the Data Protection Act 1998
and have published this guide to help you understand how and why CLG collect
information from you, to whom information is disclosed and what your rights
are.
You can at present access our Website home page and browse our site without
disclosing personal information. However, when you register with CLG you
will be asked to provide certain information about yourself.
What information do we collect and how do we obtain it?
We only receive information about you when you choose to register your
details with CLG. If you register with is you will be asked to provide
certain information such as your name, address, details of your credit
or debit card (only if you are paying by credit/debit card), telephone
number and email address so that we can process and fulfil your order,
notify you of your order status, and inform you of special offers and promotions.
How do we use your information?
We use the information about you to:
a. Process your orders
b. Administer this website
c. Monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop
and improve the design and layout of the site
d. Notify you of enhancements to our services, such as changes to the website,
new services and special offers that may be of interest.
e. Marketing, advertising and promotions, unless a user elects to opt-out
of receiving such communication
If you have given us permission to send you information about using our
produces and services by telephone, e-mail or in writing, you agree that
by doing so CLG are not in breach of the Telecommunications
(Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999.
Use of Data for Direct Marketing Purposes
At
each point of data collection you will be given the opportunity to opt-out
of receiving future direct marketing from CLG. Where you do not
opt-out of such communications, CLG may provide information on CLG events,
promotions and special offers. If at any time you would like CLG to stop
such communications you should email the Data Protection Officer quoting “Security
and Privacy Enquiry.”
Verifying, updating and amending your personal information
If, at any time you would like to verify, update or amend the personal
data CLG holds on you, simply email your request to the Data Protection
Officer. Verification, updating or amendment of personal data takes place
within 40 days of receipt of the request.
Who does CLG disclose the information it collects to?
Castle Leisure Group will not disclose your information to any third party
unless the following applies:
1. If requested, by the police or any other regulatory or Government authority
investigating suspected illegal activities
2. To a third party for marketing purposes or for competition entry with
whom CLG have a direct working relationship (unless you elect to opt-out
of such information being shared). We will never disclose your payment
details to these third parties.
Keeping in touch with you
We
want to keep you up to date with information about new events, special
offers and improvements to this site. If you decide you do not want us
to contact you, you can request that we stop using your information and
that we stop mailing you information to you by writing to the Group Data
Protection Officer at the contact details provided later or via email,
quoting “Security and Privacy Enquiry.” You may continue to
receive mailings, which are already on route to you for a short period
of time while your request is being dealt with.
What about cookies?
At present the CLG Store does not use cookies. However, this is a development
requirement and therefore the following information has been provided in
preparation for its introduction.
Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser
on your computer hard drive. They contain no recognisable personal information.
a. To ensure that items are placed into your shopping basket and orders
processed correctly
b. To identify you as you travel around our site
c. To provide site usage information, which together with purchase information,
will further help us improve and develop the products and service we offer.
If your Internet browser is set to reject cookies or if your firewall
won’t allow then unfortunately you will not be able to use the on-line
store. Please refer to your Internet browser help file to see how to enable
cookies on your PC.
Your rights under the Data Protection Act 1998
You
have a right to access the personal data that we hold on you. If you
would like to see a copy please send a £10 administration fee and
a written request to the Group Data Protection Officer at Head Office,
quoting “Security and Privacy Enquiry.” If you think the information
we hold on you is incorrect please contact the Group Data Protection Officer
on dataprotection@clg.co.uk
Monitoring Communications
To protect the operation of our netwrok we monitor incoming and out going
mail.
